Investing in the Right Deep Cycle Batteries

When installing a new solar panel system, one of the things

Deep cycle batteries

one has to pay special attention to is the deep cycle battery. This is one of the most important components of the whole system and there are a few things one has to keep in mind as they go about the business of choosing and finally purchasing a battery to complement their system. It is always an excellent idea to compare the different types of batteries in the market. A little window shopping might be in order at this point. Asking the dealers or manufacturer agents as many questions as possible will also help in making that final decision.

Invest in a long lasting battery

There is no one specific deep cycle battery that’s perfect in the market. Instead, there are a lot of brands and while some are quite excellent, there are a few below average ones that are sure to disappoint at some point in the future. The most recommended batteries, for excellent quality, are the golf cart batteries. Some of these are known to be drained completely and then recharged an amazing 700 times. This means they can last for almost ten years. That is great quality which is very much worth any investment put into it. Much better than a few other batteries that can only be cycled about 100 times and need constant replacement. It is better to buy a long lasting one and minimize any future chances of having to buy a brand new one.

Depending on the system, one deep cycle battery might not be enough and as such, one is advised to get a battery bank. This is basically just a collection of a few more batteries that will store up all the extra energy required. Figuring out just how many extra batteries are required might be a bit confusing. The easiest way to decide on this is to get enough batteries to last about 3 or 4 days of cloudy weather. Some complex systems might require a bit more of that and it is advised that one confirms with a professional as they make that decision. These few tips are sure to make your relationship with your battery a long lasting and fulfilling one.
